Head Twit?

For those of you that don't know, I am a member of the St. Louis chapter of MPI (Meeting Planners International). This morning, I had a communications committee meeting and nominated myself to be the "Head Twit". That's right. Meg is diving into the Twitter pool. I JUST signed up so for those of you that use Twitter, check me out at @megscacci. (Is that how you even write that?) We'll see. The Head Twit is responsible for keeping the MPI chapter site full of tidbits on local doings, restaurants, private spaces for events & things one may stumble upon while traveling. I'm hoping that once I get going with this, more MPI members will jump on the Twitter band wagon... Our goal is to double the number of Twitter followers we have in the next year. Not sure where we are as of today, but I think we can do it!
Does anyone have any suggestions on tips for early Twitterers?? :) Or if you have any suggestions on places to highlight on my page, I welcome those too. Thanks to all & wish me luck!
